PUJA AND OFFERINGS
The monks here perform Mahakala Puja with 100,000 mantra recitation, after reopening of the college, in July. It is being performed for the propagation of Buddha’s teachings, the longevity of Dharma holders, to dispel sicknesses, misfortunes & other obstacles, for the long life and prosperity of our sponsors and donors, and to pacify conflicts, famine, calamities & other misfortunes in the world.
The propitiatory puja is also performed daily at the Mahakala shrine-room by the caretaker monk, and the monk-assembly recite mantras of Guru Padmasambhava, Arya Tara, Amitayus, medicine Buddha, Heart sutra, and dedicate merits during their daily morning prayer. Every once a month, the monks perform the medicinal buddha, Arya Tara, and Amitayus puja with 100 mantra recitation. Occasionally, they also perform 400-Torma Offering and Obstacle-dispelling Puja. On every 29th day of the Tibetan month, the monks perform the Grand Mahakala Puja at the college.
